This week in math we will continue to work on fractions. Students will practice finding equivalent fractions using multiplication and division, compare fractions using multiple strategies, convert mixed numbers to improper fractions, convert improper fractions to mixed numbers, and add and subtract mixed numbers both with and without regrouping. Please use the links below for videos and practice! Also, please have your child review the practice problems and mini-lesson questions in their math notebook. This week in Science will be learning about Earth’s Rotation and Revolution. Earth’s rotation gives us day and night. We will look at the position of the sun at different times of day and record the changes by observing shadows. Next, we will discuss Earth’s Revolution around the sun and do an experiment showing how Earth’s tilt gives us the 4 seasons! A test review will be sent home this week. We will have a Science Test on Wednesday, February 12th!
